1st June 2025, 10:30 - 13:00
Join Chris Howard, the President of the Surrey Hills Society for this 5 miles hill walk to discover some more hidden gems in this area.
Hydons Ball and Heath was one of the earliest acquisitions for the National Trust and there is a stone memorial there to one of their co-founders, Octavia Hill, who died in 1912.
It’s one of the highest points in Surrey and the steep, wooded, south-facing slope commands magnificent views across the surrounding countryside towards the Sussex border.
There are several stunning views along the way.
Part of the route is along the long-distance route called the Greensand Way.
We class this walk as Moderate
and will take the walk at a leisurely pace.
You will need to be quite fit as the hills on this walk are quote steep and the paths are uneven.
You may wish to book lunch at The White Horse pub from 1.15pm. We suggest you book well in advance as they get very booked up.
This walk is not suitable for those with mobility issues.
Obedient dogs are welcome.
