7th May 2025, 14:30 - 16:30
Join Mark and Virginia Turner, who have kindly organised our first visit to Shieling, the one acre garden that has been restored to its original 1920s design. We have chosen to visit this garden in May as it is especially colourful with spring bulbs and rhododendrons, so we should be in for a treat.
There is a formal front garden with island beds and shrub borders, an unusual large rock garden with a collection of “slug free” hostas, many acid loving plants and woodland perennials.
The back garden includes a large rockery, a mediterranean gravel border, herbaceous borders and a woodland area with a stumpery.
A plant list will be provided so you’ll be able to identify whilst exploring the garden and you may also be interested to know that the Sheiling has been featured in the Telegraph, Gardeners’ World and Surrey Life.
This event is suitable for wheelchair users as there is wheelchair access over resin drive, grass and paths but please bear in mind there are some narrow paths in the back garden.
The event is not suitable for dogs.
The cost will be £16 for members and £20 for non-members. This cost includes tea or coffee and cakes. If you do have any dietary requirements, please note these in the comments box when booking your ticket.
Deadline for booking 30 April 2025.
